These filters do not require the water valve to be shut off during replacement. However, it is recommended to turn off the water valve to de-pressurize if customers have difficulties removing the old filter or installing the new one. Every brand may have its own design, but the key part of the filter should be the same as the one you are using, so please try the installation.

It is essential to replace the filter every 6 months or sooner, based on water quality and frequency of use. Failure to change the filter can reduce flow or cause deposits/rust, while overuse reduces performance and may cause leaks. After installation, it is recommended to flush the new filter for 2 minutes to condition it and discard the first 2 ice batches, as harmless charcoal residuals may be present.
